LW Baseball Club Tryouts FAQ:

Who is eligible to tryouts for the 2025-26 season?
​Any child who will be turning league age 7-12 years old can tryout for the LW Baseball Club.   

​How old is my son? (2025-26 Season)
Note that tournament league age is different than Little League age.   For tournaments, we use an age cutoff of May 1st.
​12U:  Born on or after May 1, 2013
​11U:  Born on or after May 1, 2014
​10U:  Born on or after May 1, 2015
​9U:  Born on or after May 1, 2016
​8U:  Born on or after May 1, 2017

​What if I cannot attend tryouts?
Out of courtesy to all players trying out and the need to finalize teams, we do not allow individual tryouts after the formal tryouts.   If your player will be out of town and cannot attend the tryouts, please email us at lakewashingtonbbc@gmail.com.  We may work with the coaches to explore arranging an individual tryout.    If you cannot attend the scheduled tryouts due a conflict such as a birthday party, dinner plans, sleepover, etc... we will not be able to arrange an individual tryout.

Do I have to play in Kirkland American Little League?
No.   While most of our players play in Kirkland American Little League, we are not affiliated with any Little League.    We currently have players from multiple Little Leagues.  Any and all players are invited.  We are a Little League friendly team and players are encouraged to play for their local Little League as well.

​How many players will make the team?
​For the 2025-26 season, we are targeting 11-12 players per team.   That provides ample playing time for boys, while ensuring each team has enough players to participate in tournaments and games.

What should I bring to tryouts?
​Please have your player equipped in baseball gear, bring a bat, helmet and their glove.    Tryouts will be a 60-90 minute period for coaches to evaluate such skills as hitting, fielding, throwing, catching and pitching.

Do I need to pre-register for tryouts?
No.   But you should plan to arrive at the tryout 15-30 minutes in advance of your designated time.   This will allow your child to sufficiently warm up and complete registration paperwork.

Where is Hidden Valley Ballfield 2?
Please refer to the map linked here.   Hidden Valley 2 is the first field north of the parking lot at the  Boys and Girls Club.  Turf infield and grass outfield.

What if I cannot attend tryouts?
You should make best effort to attend the tryouts.   If you have an immovable conflict, please contact us at the email below and our coaches may allow for an individual workout.

When will I know if my son has been selected to the team?
​Coaches will contact players within 4-5 days to offer invitations to selected players.
